1850's Victorian Red Turquoise Gold Tone Austro Hungarian Enameled Brooch
1850's Victorian Red Turquoise Gold Tone Enameled Brooch
Let me start off by saying this piece has been well loved. I can definitely see why it's an extravagant piece of wearable art. So much detail and craftsmanship has went into making this piece each little star was hand-painted or enameled some blue some red intermingled with the turquoise and red rhinestones and encased in a gold tone metal.
I've never seen another piece like this and trust me I have looked and looked and looked trying to find something to give me an identification for this one
Measurements - 2" x 1.75"
well love condition if you look at the photos I have posted you will see that some of the stripes from the stars around the center are missing I do think that they could be replaced or the remaining stripes could be removed by someone that knows what they are doing with that said I do not recommend removing them because I think this brooch is beautiful the way it is
The hinge of this piece dates it back to the 1850s followed with a c clasp has a nice strong closure the back could use a slight cleaning.
if by chance you know any info on this piece please feel free to contact me and let me know I'm always curious to learn more about it
